El PIDEE, es un organismo de defensa y protección de los Derechos del Niño. PIDEE nace el año 1979 como respuesta a las demandas de niños y jóvenes, hijos o familiares de víctimas de la violación de los Derechos Humanos durante el Gobierno Militar (1973-1990), afectados por trastornos en el área de la salud física y mental, y serias dificultades en la satisfacción de sus necesidades básicas de sobrevivencia.
