Tras escuchar y analizar las diversas hipótesis de la muerte de su hermano brindada por carabineros, ninguna ha sido convincente y la mayoría contradictoria, lo único seguro es el informe de muerte de su hermano por "traumatismo encéfalo craneal y abdominal por artefacto explosivo". Su vinculación a la Juventudes Comunistas y los movimientos estudiantiles hacen presumir un asesinato político.
