Biographical history
Político chileno, fue ministro del régimen militar de Augusto Pinochet, ejerciendo el cargo de Ministro del Interior desde 1978 hasta 1982. Al finalizar la dictadura, en 1990, tomo un asiento en el congreso como senador designado, hasta el año 1998. Ese mismo año se presentó como candidato a senador en elecciones populares por la Unión Demócrata Independiente por la XII Región de Magallanes y de la Antártica Chilena, resultando electo.
